Depending on what the project is, we start with a creative session. We may jump right in talking about the personality of your brand, your organizational goals and your marketing objectives. Don’t be surprised if I listen more than I speak. That’s my creative process. Or we may get right to the nitty gritty of the marketing piece you have in mind. Either way, we collaborate, kick around some ideas and have some fun too.
With all the info in my brain, my creative process begins. My goal is to translate your business objectives into a visual language that will speak to your audience. This means I drink copious amounts of coffee while researching, brainstorming, writing, and drawing. The fruit of that effort is usually mood boards to provide options for colour palettes, typefaces and imagery or illustration styles to best reflect your business. (If you already have a brand standards guide, I will skip the mood boards and move straight to designing your materials.) After I’ve percolated and slept on it, I whittle my options down, cross my fingers and share the initial presentation.
Based on your feedback, I go back to my desk to make slight modifications to the initial designs. When everyone is happy, I then move on to the final art. I meticulously review every last detail and build the final art files. Depending on your preference, I will send the final files to yourself or your supplier. If you’re not comfortable managing the production process, I can do it for you.
